The Leelanau Trail is a non-motorized recreational rail trail of 15 miles (24 km) in length that extends from the west side of Traverse City, Michigan to Suttons Bay, Michigan. This trail passes through the eastern side of Leelanau County, a fast-growing section of the Traverse City metropolitan area.

Our challenge was to figure out a great way to pass on the healthy benefits of tart cherries to our four-legged buddies. That’s when the fun began! We started chopping, mixing and baking in our own farm kitchen in Leelanau County (with our Labs Lucy and Abbey as our taste testers) and that’s when Hip Bones™ ~ The Original CHERRY Dog Treat™ were born!
